Havecon Horticultural Projects
Havecon Horticultural Projects, founded in 2006, is a flexible and customer-focused organization with a wealth of in-house experience in the design, manufacturing and completion of greenhouse horticulture projects. From initial idea to post-delivery service, we can guide you through every step of the construction process. In recent years we have become a major global player in this field. But this doesn’t mean that our projects are also on a large scale. On the contrary, we are just as happy with a one-hectare greenhouse as a 15-hectare one – and work just as hard on it too. Every project is of equal importance to us. Our mission is to innovate, to lighten your load and to keep our promises.
Working with our permanent construction partner Voorwinden Group, we can prepare a construction plan to get you up and running as soon as possible so that you can earn back your investment. We can complete the construction quickly and at a competitive price. That's Havecon.
Grown up by remaining true to ourselves
Havecon Kassenbouw was founded in 2006 by two men both with years of experience in greenhouse construction – Aad Voorwinden and Henk Verbakel. In November of that year, they shook hands to signal their decision to go into business together. They called the new company Havecon – H for Henk, A for Aad, V (e) for Voorwinden and Verbakel and finally 'con' from construction. Havecon started out with a small team of professionals with a broad knowledge of the design, development and implementation of greenhouse projects. Through a combination of hard work and perseverance, taking nothing for granted, making the right choices at the right time, doing what we promise and a bit of luck along the way, we have grown to become a major player in international greenhouse horticulture. Since 2006, we have built over 1,200 hectares of greenhouses. In all shapes and sizes and for all sorts of crops.

A deal is a deal. Always and everywhere.
Mission | At Havecon we do what we promise. And that’s not just a hollow promise. We have grown big by keeping our promise. It’s what makes the difference, along with our efficiency and attention to detail. Our customers can count on us. Always and everywhere.
Vision | We strive for the best quality. Both from our producers and in our processes. But we are not blind to human fallibility. We learn from our mistakes. To do it even better next time. That is our strength.
CSR
Corporate Social Responsibility
Everyone is talking about sustainability nowadays. And rightly so! We must work together to safeguard our planet. We at Havecon take our responsibilities extremely seriously. We are going green in our production and construction processes, and beyond. Or to be more precise: on the roof.
We have got together with our neighbors, the Voorwinden Group, to build a part-time power plant on the roofs of our business premises. No less than 4,330 photovoltaic panels on our shared roofs produce a whopping yield! According to a realistic estimate by supplier Solsolutions from Delft, the solar panels collectively generate around 1 million kWh of electricity per year. We and our neighbors use a small part of this ourselves, of course, but the vast majority is delivered back to the network. Enough to supply 200 'average' families (2 adults and 2 children) with electricity. For a whole year! So we are proud to say that we make a significant contribution to a greener future.
Personal sports budget | Sport –good for the body, and for the mind. And if you feel good, you perform better. At Havecon, we think this is very important. To encourage our people to take part in sports or to support them in their current sports activities, we have made a personal sports budget available, which can be used at our employee’s own discretion. For example, it can be used for a gym membership or for purchasing running shoes. This way our people stay in good shape just like our greenhouses...
Bleiswijk Hockey Club | We encourage and facilitate sports and exercise for our employees, but we believe that supporting local sports clubs is also an important factor in our CSR policy. For example, we are one of the main sponsors of Hockeyvereniging Bleiswijk, HVB for short. For many years, the Havecon flag has been flying and HVB hockey players and stars have our logo on their shirts.
Michael Van der Mark | In addition to local athletes and clubs, Havecon also has a passion for (inter)national motorsport – or more specifically, motorcycle driver Michael Van der Mark. He is the very first European Superstock 600 champion from the Netherlands, the very first Dutch World Supersport champion, the very first Dutchman to stand on the World Superbike podium and the very first Dutchman to win a World Superbike race. In 2020, he will ride a Yamaha YZF-R1 for the Pata Yamaha Official WorldSBK Team in the Superbike World Championship. His goal? Become the best in the world again.
BoereGoed | At Havecon we believe that everyone can participate in society. That’s why we support the BoereGoed Foundation. This organization sells delicious, healthy, local products grown in the BoereGoed Buurtkas (a local market garden) and by growers from the Westland region directly to people. The aim is to reconnect people with the land and give them a better understanding of where their food comes from. You can find BoereGoed products in BoereGoed Farmshops and the Farm-I-See. BoereGoed is good for people, and that’s why Havecon likes it. For a detailed explanation of the working method and points of sale, take a look at the BoereGoed website.
Havecon is an Accredited Training Company, because we think it’s very important to give students practical experience, whether they are studying at college or university. In this way we contribute to the training of professionals. Training is a fun way to get an eager and motivated workforce. Many students start working at their training company after their studies. Students look at your company with fresh eyes and bring current knowledge and new insights with them – important for a healthy mix of young and old. Students make a direct contribution to your company. And you benefit from a helping hand from new entrants to the profession.
Partnerships
Havecon is proud partner of Atrium Agri. This is a collaboration of entrepreneurs within the international horticultural sector. Together with our partners, we form a knowledge platform in the fields of total cultivation concepts, greenhouse construction, water, climate, automation, energy and consultancy. We are not only a knowledge partner for the partners within the platform, but also the connector within the sector. By connecting the right parties, we encourage cross-fertilization between leading companies. Equal, and while retaining our own identity.
Together with VB, pc tec, BOM Group, VEK Adviesgroep and Cambridge HOK we are Atrium Agri. A single powerful platform where we and our partners contribute to a sustainable world where a growing world population can surround itself with healthy vegetables and attractive floricultural products. Always looking critically at processes and continuously improving them.
.
Havecon attaches great importance to quality. Certifications demonstrate that we work to specific quality standards and, in addition, give us the opportunity to keep a critical eye on processes and to keep improving them. It goes without saying that every greenhouse that we deliver meets the highest requirements with regard to quality and sustainability. And although we are convinced of the quality we deliver, this can only be substantiated by accreditation from an official body.
HortiQ Certification
Quality first
On 27 June 2019 we were awarded the HortiQ quality label by chairman Harm Maters. The HortiQ certification is awarded to companies whose internal processes, organization and product quality has been rigorously tested. The requirements for this are based, among other things, on the NEN standardization and the ISSO quality guidelines for greenhouse constructions, climate, water and feed installations (ISSO 86, 87 and 88). Havecon attaches great importance to quality. Certifications demonstrate that we work to specific quality standards and also give us the opportunity to continually review and improve our processes. But what exactly does the label entail and how does it benefit you as a buyer of a Havecon greenhouse? More information: www.hortiq.nl

CE certified
Every Havecon greenhouse
It goes without saying that every greenhouse we deliver meets the highest requirements with regard to quality and sustainability. And although we are convinced of the quality we deliver, this can only be substantiated by accreditation from an official body. That is why CE certification is applied to every greenhouse supplied and/or built by us. CE stands for Conformité Européenne and is a mark that your greenhouse complies with the strictest European directives and regulations in the field of safety and sustainability. In combination with the Factory Production Control System (FPC), we are therefore entitled to market steel and aluminum with the CE mark. You also have the guarantee that all (construction) products supplied by Havecon bear this certification. A reassuring thought!
