In March of this year Beekenkamp Plants started construction on its latest extension in Maasdijk, in the heart of the Westland. Since it was founded in 1951 Beekenkamp plants has grown to become a company with 2200 employees world wide, a production of over 1,700,000,000 young plants per year, and a total acreage of almost 80 hectares. This latest addition will be 6,2 hectare.
For this project the choise has been made for regular glass. Many growers nowadays choose diffuse glass. The result of this is that you can't see inside the greenhouse from the top anymore. This greenhouse still allows you to see everything.
The packing room is still empty. Soon this hall will be filled with packing machines, sorting machines, and plantse waiting to be transported of course.
The floor is still being poured.
