Project Review 2025 | Building the future of greenhouse horticulture together

The global challenge surrounding food supply and professional crop production calls for smart, scalable and reliable solutions. In 2025, greenhouse horticulture once again played a central role in addressing this challenge. Through controlled growing conditions, more efficient use of space and resources, and a high degree of predictability, the sector continues to be a key driver in future-proofing food and ornamental crop production.

For Havecon, 2025 was a year in which we worked closely with our customers and partners on a wide range of projects, both domestically and internationally. Projects that clearly reflect what we stand for: well-considered greenhouse solutions, strong preparation, and reliable execution — from initial design through to realisation.

Projects that shaped 2025
In 2025, Havecon was involved in a diverse portfolio of greenhouse horticulture projects, varying in scale, crop type and geographical location. Together, these projects represent more than 800,000 m² of greenhouse development, clearly demonstrating our international reach and versatility as a greenhouse builder.

Emsflower (Germany) – approx. 140,000 m²
For Emsflower, we delivered a large-scale greenhouse project focused on the cultivation of bedding and potted plants. The scale and complexity of this project required a carefully designed greenhouse concept and thorough preparation, aligned with the high standards for quality and logistics within modern ornamental horticulture.

Royal Pride (The Netherlands) – approx. 71,000 m²
With Phase 5A, we further expanded the greenhouse facilities of Royal Pride. This greenhouse, designed for cucumber cultivation, integrates seamlessly with existing facilities and supports further optimisation of growing and operational processes at this leading grower.

Hoogweg Paprikakwekerijen (The Netherlands) – approx. 227,000 m²
The expansion at Hoogweg Paprikakwekerijen is one of the larger projects of the year. With approximately 227,000 m² of new greenhouse area, this project contributes to further scaling and professionalisation of pepper production, with a strong focus on future readiness and operational efficiency.

Hagewest (Belgium) – approx. 43,000 m²
The project at Hagewest demonstrates how tailor-made greenhouse solutions also add value internationally. The greenhouse was designed with specific attention to crop requirements and market demand and aligns well with the company’s growth ambitions.

Dijkshoorn (The Netherlands) – approx. 12,000 m²
At Dijkshoorn, we realised a compact yet thoughtfully designed greenhouse project. This project highlights that smart greenhouse solutions contribute to efficiency and sustainability even at a smaller scale.

Van Egmond Matricaria’s (The Netherlands) – approx. 25,000 m²
For Van Egmond Matricaria’s, we built a greenhouse fully tailored to the specific requirements of matricaria cultivation. The greenhouse provides optimal conditions for quality and continuity within this specialised segment of ornamental horticulture.

Agro Care (The Netherlands) – approx. 96,000 m²
At Agro Care in Middenmeer, we were involved in a large-scale greenhouse redevelopment project of approximately 96,000 m² in 2025. The project required careful preparation and tight coordination. The work highlights Havecon’s role as a greenhouse builder capable of responding quickly, even in complex situations. In close collaboration with the customer and partners within Atrium Agri, we are developing a greenhouse that meets the high standards of large-scale tomato cultivation and is ready for the future.

Tas Paprika (The Netherlands) – approx. 116,000 m²
The project at Tas Paprika involves a substantial expansion of greenhouse capacity. The activities continue throughout 2025 and form a solid foundation for further growth in pepper production in the years ahead.

Nourse Farms (United States) – approx. 20,000 m²
In the United States, we worked on a greenhouse project for Nourse Farms, active in the soft fruit sector. This project demonstrates how greenhouse horticulture and controlled growing conditions also contribute to local food supply outside Europe.

Flora Pack (Canada) – approx. 21,000 m²
At Flora Pack, we realised a greenhouse project that supports further optimisation of ornamental crop production. The greenhouse plays an important role within the company’s operations and forms a valuable extension of the existing facilities.

Haven Greens (Kinghaven Farms, Canada) – approx. 23,000 m²
For Haven Greens in Ontario, we delivered an innovative greenhouse of approximately 23,000 m², designed for the fully automated production of fresh, pesticide-free leafy greens. In this high-tech greenhouse facility, processes from seeding to harvesting are fully integrated and automated, contributing to consistent quality and an efficient, year-round production system.

The project demonstrates how international collaboration and technical expertise come together to set new standards in sustainable food production. Through automation and advanced systems, high-quality lettuce can be produced locally in Canada, in line with Haven Greens’ ambition to serve the market closer to the consumer.

Proplant Propagation (Canada) – approx. 23,000 m²
For Proplant Propagation in Canada, we delivered a greenhouse of approximately 23,000 m² focused on the propagation and cultivation of young plants. Precise climate control, uniformity and reliability were key factors in this project — essential elements within propagation horticulture.

The greenhouse is designed to create optimal conditions for consistent plant quality and efficient production, supporting Proplant Propagation in supplying high-quality starting materials to the North American greenhouse horticulture market.

Stronger together within Atrium Agri
Our role within Atrium Agri further strengthens this approach. By collaborating with specialised partners, we offer integrated solutions for complex greenhouse horticulture projects worldwide. This collaboration enables us to bundle expertise, align processes more effectively and support our customers optimally in achieving their ambitions

Looking ahead
We look back on 2025 with pride — a year in which we worked together with customers and partners on projects with real impact. At the same time, we continue to look ahead. The challenges and opportunities within greenhouse horticulture continue to evolve, and we are ready to respond together.

On to 2026, where we will further strengthen our role as a reliable partner in greenhouse horticulture and continue building a sustainable future.
