Project update week 1: 'HAVE a good 2021!'

.

2021 is a fact! A new year, in which we will hopefully be able to return to normal daily life a bit. How 'normal' that will be, remains to be seen. For the time being - with the first vaccinations in NL that started the day before yesterday - we will stick to the 'new normal'. In any case, we at Havecon got back to work on our projects this week. In this first project update of the year you can read and see how our works are doing. Because this biweekly publication will remain as normal ;-). Best wishes for a beautiful, successful and above all healthy 2021!

RedSun

We start this first project update of the new year with the Canadian project Redsun. We are working hard to finish this project. The following things are planned for the coming weeks:

  • The doors are installed
  • Computer and further electrical installation is completed
  • The irrigation is put into operation in its entirety
  • The 2nd boiler is put into use

Finally, the various installations are further finished and then we move towards completion!

Proplant

We keep on going fast at Proplant! Preparations for glazing will be done in the coming period. The glass itself and the aluminum will arrive at the construction site in the next few weeks. According to the current schedule, we will start phasing out in week 6.

JEM Farms phase 4/R&D

In the previous update we informed you that the preparations for the so-called R&D greenhouse went very well at the end of last year and were completed within three weeks. The construction of the greenhouse within this sub-project will shortly follow the construction of the next phase at our loyal customer: phase 4. The demolition of the current greenhouse at the location of this new extension (see photo) has recently started. We expect to be able to start with the foundation of this phase in March / April.

Epione Remedios

Voorwinden is busy with the latest work at Epione in Old Castle, Canada.

Intergrow phase II

The new phase of Intergrow, phase II, is still in 'hibernation' after the completion of the preparatory work, such as the ground pipes by VB, but not for much longer!

At the end of this month, the building materials will arrive at the construction site and the following week we will really start with the steel construction.

Foliera

New project! In Smithville, Canada we are going to realize a 1.5 hectare greenhouse. The first preparatory work has already been carried out at the end of last year. The planned start of construction is week 11.

Pure Flavor 3

We continued with phase 3 of Pure Flavor: after the installation of the transport pipelines was completed at the end of last year, the boiler was delivered at the beginning of this week and JV (Voshol) will start installing it next week.

European works

Kwekerij Vereijken

The demolition of the old greenhouse has been completed and we have started the new expansion of Vereijken Kwekerijen in Someren in Dutch Brabant. This week Voorwinden started the concrete work; preparations for the foundation of the greenhouse for the cultivation of tomatoes of 3.7 hectares.

Dick van der Gaag

The final delivery in Luttelgeest is near! The concrete path was constructed this week. Voorwinden is also working on the final finishing and the (overhead) doors will be installed soon after next week!

Hoogweg 3 (greenhouse C and D)

The posts of the next expansion of Hoogweg Paprika's in Luttelgeest are pressed. The construction site has also been made ready for winter and in the new year we will pick up the thread again in the Noordoostpolder. Construction is scheduled to start at the end of March next year.

Ruud and Hans Hendriks

In Baarlo, North Limburg (NL), we are ready for steel construction! It will start next week, followed by glazing early February.

House of Peppers

We are busy with all the preparations for the second new project, House of Peppers. From next week we will start working on the removal, followed a few weeks later by the actual steel construction.

Gestelberries BVBA

Finally, a second update of the Gestelberries project in the Belgian Meer (Hoogstraten). The construction of the strawberry cultivation facility is already in full swing! The digging of the drain will be completed early next week and we will also start glazing the deck in the course of that week. Like a rocket!

Let's keep in touch.
