Project update week 9: 'Nice work!'

.

How we enjoy being a greenhouse builder! Especially with some sunshine and knowing that we are usually well on schedule. At one project in a beautiful location in Scotland, the glass flies on the deck and at the other in Canada, the steel construction is going very well. And with this we only mention two projects from our large portfolio that we have been awarded. Our people go for it. Always and everywhere. Nice work!

We at Havecon wish you a lot of pleasure reading and viewing the already fifth project update of 2021!

Intergrow phase II

The complete steel construction of phase II was completed this week at the Intergrow project. Voorwinden is now finalizing the connection of the greenhouse to the existing warehouse. The glazing starts within about two weeks. We present you a series of beautiful overview photos of this great project!

LG Flowers

An update on the LG Flowers project. The new gerbera greenhouse of the Lansbergen family is making good progress! The glazing of the deck has been completed and Voorwinden is now working on the air mechanism and the gables.

Proplant

At Proplant we started glazing the past week. And we are going fast, because we hope to have the deck completely closed today.

Once done we will immediately proceed with the installation of the ventilation windows and the ventilation installation. In the following week, Voorwinden hopes to start work on both the gables and the screens. And as soon as this work is up and running, the third parties come into the greenhouse to work on the other installations. Full steam ahead in the Canadian Jarvis, Ontario!

CHOK - Hilltop Leaf

An update of our Scottish project commissioned by Cambridge HOK, Hilltop Leaf. As can be seen in the beautiful drone photo, all the steel is now up. This means that the people from Voorwinden are now fully occupied with the deck and the air mechanism. It really is a gift to be able to build at this impressive location in the Scottish highlands!

Pure Flavor 3

We have come a long way with the Pure Flavor 3 project. Voorwinden is now working on placing the ridge, of which about 50% is ready. Things are also going well in the boiler house. JV Energy (Voshol) is currently carrying out the final work on the boiler, which will be completed shortly.

Glazing will start at the end of this month in Staples, Ontario (CA). As you can see on the impressive drone photo on the right, the greenhouse is completely ready for the glass!

JEM Farms phase 4/R&D

The demolition of the current greenhouse at the location of the new extension at JEM Farms, phase 4, is almost complete. The new land, where the old greenhouse has already been removed, is being prepared for construction. When this work has been completed, we can start with the foundation. That is expected at the end of this month.

Kwekerij Vereijken

The first part of construction in Someren (NL) will be completed still this week. In a few weeks' time we will pick up the thread again and start with the air mechanism, followed by the glazing.

Geest Potplanten

You could read about it last week on this website and in the various media: we are going to build another greenhouse expansion for Geest Potplanten in 's-Gravenzande (Westland, NL)! The 1.7 hectare plot of land to be built on will shortly being marked and the first piles will be pressed next week. Missed the interview with Dirk van Geest about the building plans? Read it here.

Ruud and Hans Hendriks

The steel construction is finished and the glass is on the deck in Baarlo (Limburg, NL). This week Voorwinden assembled the sandwich and the gables, followed by the sandwich gables next week. According to schedule, we will start the finishing of the brand new greenhouse for the cultivation of santinis (chrysanthemums) of Ruud and Hans Hendriks the week after.

Hoogweg 3 (greenhouse C and D)

After a winter break, this week we started with preparations for greenhouse 3C at Hoogweg in the Noordoostpolder again. Voorwinden is now busy digging the drain for the rainwater discharge system and next week we will really start with the steel construction.

Greenbrothers VOF

As we announced in the previous update, this is a new project in preparation. In Zevenbergen in Dutch Brabant, we are allowed to build an eggplant greenhouse of more than 5 hectares for brothers Frank and Ben Groenewegen. And we are looking forward to that!

The marking of the land will be done soon and in about two weeks we will start with the piling and pressing the piles.

House of Peppers

An update on the House of Peppers (Peppers Unlimited) project. The first steel has gone up in IJsselmuiden! In the coming weeks, that means we will continue to build on the framework of the new bell pepper greenhouse there. Nice work!

Let's keep in touch.
